Community Hub

The Community Hub at Stevensville opened in 2014 and was established as part of an initiative of the Community Hubs Australia, which is supported, by the Scanlon Foundation and the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
The Community Hub is open to all families, mothers, fathers and carers in the local area of the school. Our hub works with migrant/refugee women and pre-school children, offering services such as playgroup, cooking and gardening groups, skills training, English classes, breakfast, homework and sporting clubs as well as volunteering opportunities and community events.
Through participating in our community hub members of the local community are able to gain
local information and services around education, health, community and settlement in a familiar and friendly place. Being part of a Hub can help families create friendships and support networks, and give a sense of belonging. Mothers, fathers and carers can also undertake volunteer work, education and training that can lead to employment.
Our Community Hub is a vibrant place that is always full of activity. For further information about the programs and activities happening in our hub please see our calendar of events or contact Mei Hsin, our Community Hub worker who is available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at the school.
